DAVID ZAMBRANO
Dancer, choreographer, pedagogue. He has been making dance for over 20 years, has visited 40 countries, worked with more than 25.000 students, and has performed at hundreds of venues across the world. His pieces range from set choreography, structured improvisation, and pure improvisation. He invented the “Flying Low” and “Passing Through” technique.Sue-Yeon Youn
was born in 1981 in South Korea. In 1987 she started taking ballet and Korean traditional dance classes and in 1994 went to the Arts High School in Seoul. In 2002 she graduated from the Dance department at the Korean National University of Arts. In 2003 / 2004 Sue-Yeon studied at the Rotterdam Dance Academy. From 2004 till 2006 she followed the Research Cycle at P.A.R.T.S., from which she graduated with “Love. Death. My life with Ting -Yu. Oh wait, I am you” Sue-Yeon joined Rosas for the creation of Steve Reich Evening and took part in the creation of Zeitung.Holes is a serie of 4 different duets conceived and directed by David Zambrano in collaboration with 4 dance artists : Jimmy Ortiz, Cynthia Loemij, Sue-Yeon Youn and Milan Herich. Each duet is performed by David Zambrano and one of the 4 dance artists.”How can 2 dancing bodies change the space of the stage? What does intimacy and togetherness mean in relation to this, and how can the dancer’s language of movement best be used to convey information?”For OFFestival, David Zambrano will perform with Sue-Yeon Youn, “HOLES#2”.
