Today, Garage29 is a non-profit association active in the field of choreography and performance art.

This former garage has been converted into a dance studio, offering space and residencies for emerging artists wishing to experiment, make mistakes and move forward, in a caring environment. Every year, about ten emerging artists are selected by open call to join the GINCUBATOR (and if you're worried about missing the call, subscribe to our newsletter !).

Garage29 sélectionne des artistes prêt·es à expérimenter au-delà du cadre « conventionnel » d’une résidence, s’éloignant de la création solitaire du studio de danse en ouvrant leur espace de travail au public, en allant chez les habitant·es ou en partageant l’espace avec un·e autre artiste.
Quinze jours par an au printemps, le Garage devient un espace de représentation : c’est le OFFestival ! It's an opportunity to present the work in progress and/or finished creations of artists who have passed through the GINCUBATOR in a convivial setting.
During the summer, the Garage goes into hibernation - we hand over the keys to a young artist shortlisted during the GIN, who will change every week. We give them the space to experiment, while we take the time to renew our energies before coming back... more determined and creative! These are the summer residencies.

In support of emerging creation, Garage29 is a partner with Les Halles de Schaerbeek, Théâtre de la Vie and BAMP in the Lundynamite, qui présente une étape de travail chaque premier lundi du mois, dans une structure culturelle (presque) toujours différente.

GOOD TO KNOW Are you a company, dancer, performer, musician (...) in desperate need of space? Garage29 can be rented during the week, or at least at weekends (slots are often available).
