Juliana Neves will share her 20 years of artistic experience and propose five intensive afternoons of training, dancing, improvising and creating. Each day starts with a different warm up, including floor work, strengthening and stretch exercises, partnering, some circus/acrobatics and choreographic phrases. The workshop goes on with a creative part, based on free and guided improvisations, and composition exercises, trying to find an emotional state before a physical one, going from physical states to movement. We ask questions and try to answer them physically.

JULIANA NEVES

Juliana Neves is a dancer, aerial acrobat, choreographer and teacher. Born in São Paulo. She has collaborated with Alain Platel in Wolf ( 2003), pitié! (2008) and C(H)OEURS (2012) and as assistant director in vsprs (2006) and has been leading intensive workshops during the tour of Out of Context-for Pina (2008). In 2014, she was the artistic coordinator/casting director and acrobatic choreographer for the opening and closing ceremonies of the FIFA World Cup Brazil. Juliana was a soloist with Cirque du Soleil from 1998 to 2002 and later represented them in festivals in Brazil. She has created and directed a few shows in Brazil and in 2013, she directed her first contemporary circus show in Belgium. She teaches workshops and master classes in many countries such as China, Italy, Holland, Belgium, USA, Slovenia, Austria, France, Brazil. She is also a guest teacher at Circus Juventas (USA), Impulstanz (Vienna), Nau de Icaros, Linhas Aereas (Brazil).
