LES JOUEURS / YOU DON’T NEED MUCH SPACE TO DANCE / BRUSSELS, DANCE !

26 February, 2018 garage29 GARAGE29

Les Joueurs love playing their shows in theatre halls, beds, petrol stations, farms, cinemas or still, in the street. The company of undisciplined artists practising a wide range of disciplines (dance, circus, theatre and politics) like nothing better than pushing the usual frontiers and categorisations of the show in simultaneously political and choreographic performances. The dance company searches the space-time of a burning world.

In “YOU DON’T NEED MUCH SPACE TO DANCE”, they meet their audience on a street corner, ready to embark spectators on a facetious journey. In a first while, spectators walk up a few streets, climb the stairs of a typical Brussels house and stop in front of someone’s front door. There, they discover Les Joueurs, who are lying in someone’s bed… reading books.  Progressively, the performers embark the audience on a mad journey to Brno in the Czech Republic. Between reveries and reality, historic references and general knowledge, between life and performance, Les Joueurs explore the gaps and the spaces in between, in the aim of demonstrating that they really don’t need that much space to dance together.

The promising group bowled over the Garage29, which is intent on raising the awareness of the public to this group of atypical artists during the sort of daring expedition that is not so unusual in Brussels. The meeting point will be communicated upon booking via email to contact@garage29-offestival.be
