FR/ Du 15 au 21 juillet, Garage29 accueille Suzie Babin en résidence !

Pour son projet I WILL, Suzie explorera deux grands axes dans son travail. D’abord, elle souhaite retraverser le jeu de ses personnages : les éprouver, retravailler leur apparition et disparition, les entres, les transitions en  transformation. Notamment sur le personnage Dragqueen de la fin dans son ascension jusqu’à la mise à nu. Creuser davantage leurs états corporels, les couches dans les nuances comme dans leurs affirmations. Préciser l’intention du jeu. Comment un détail peut tout faire basculer dans la dramaturgie. Éclaircir davantage le jeu entre la musique et le personnage qui amorce  la transformation/transition. À quel moment le personnage impacte la transition de la musique et inversement. Puis, une recherche de composition vocale et sonore pour le personnage de Dragqueen à la fin. Sa prise de parole au micro sur une musique de club, l’amorce d’un texte trouble entre désir, blessure du passé, et célébration. 

EN/ From July 15 to 21, Garage 29 welcomes Suzie Babin in residence!

For its project I WILL, Suzie will explore two main themes in her work. First, she wants to go back through the play of the characters : experiencing them, reworking their appearance and disappearance, the between, the transitions in transformation.  Particularly with the Dragqueen character at the end of her ascent to the point of nakedness. Dig deeper into their bodily states, the layers in their nuances as well as in their assertions. Clarify the play’s intention.  How a detail can turn everything upside down in dramaturgy. Clarify the interplay between the music and the character that initiates the transformation/transition. At what point does the character impact the music’s transition, and vice versa? Then, research into vocal and sound composition for Dragqueen’s character at the end. Her speech at the microphone set to club music, the beginning of a troubled text between desire, past wounds and celebration.
